Linden Mallory, Base Camp Manager (LM):  Go ahead Dave this is base.

Dave Hahn (DH): Base camp. So it’s 10pm. We’re awake and our stoves are going. I think we are going to go ahead with the “walking at midnight” plan. We still got wind here but here at the South Col it’s maybe 15[mph] at the moment. Doesn’t appear to be any cloud caps on the summit. No high clouds. We got stars and like I said winds are about 15[mph] at the Col. Over. Read More…

Transcript:
Linden Mallory, Base Camp Manager (LM): It’s 1:45PM here on May 19th and the summit team returned to the South Col about a ½ hour ago. They made great time coming down from the summit, getting down in about 3 ½-4 hours. They are all in fine spirits. Really happy to be back. Definitely a long day under their belts so they are tucking in, boiling water, making tea, trying to rest and rehydrate before they descend to Camp 2 tomorrow and return down here to Base Camp the following day. We are all really excited about the great work that they have done today and are looking forward to seeing them again in a couple of days down here safe and sound.

Jake Norton, Expedition Photographer (JN): Yes, I copy you Linden. Just trying to get in touch with Peter. I’m up on the South summit trying to figure out where they are. Over.

Linden Mallory, Base Camp Manager (LM): Copy that JK. Once you get a location on everyone if you wouldn’t mind relaying that back down to me when you have a moment that would be most appreciated. Over.

(JN): Yes, copy that. I can give you the rough position. I’m at the head turn. Behind me, right close to one another are Peter, John, Tashi, Tendi and Dawa and then behind them, I’m not sure how far, are Ed and Gerry, I think Ed on the uphill side, Gerry a bit further back. Over.

(LM): Copy that Jake. Thank you. Any estimate on how far that spread is? Are we looking at minutes or in the hour range.

(JN): I would say more like minutes.

(LM): Copy that Jake. Thank you for the update.
